WYXR lost critical federal funds. Now we need your help.
Congress has cut all funding for public broadcasting, eliminating $1.1 billion nationwide. Funds that were already approved and awarded have now been taken back, forcing WYXR to absorb a sudden 10% loss of our annual budget. This funding supported the unique music, conversations, and cultural programs you can’t find anywhere else - including Stereo Sessions, Raised By Sound Fest, and over 100 volunteer DJs who bring Memphis voices to life every day.
This isn’t just a budget cut; it threatens everything we’ve built together. If WYXR has ever mattered to you - bringing joy, discovery, or connection to our city - now is the time to step up. We’ve taken a big hit, but with your support, we won’t slow down. Not now, not ever.

New Shows Are Here
We’ve added two fresh shows to the mix—each bringing a distinct sound and a bold new voice to the WYXR lineup. On Sundays at noon, "Wave Check" with Cel Shade guides listeners through a dreamlike blend of vaporwave, mallsoft, eccojams, and beyond. Then on Tuesdays at 9 p.m., "Way Down South Radio" with Lil’ Coff Drop delivers a soulful fusion of early 2000s R&B, deep house, Memphis grooves, and handpicked mash-ups. Hear both live or dig into past episodes in our archives.
